It's good to hear from you it's seems like a hundred years ago since we spoke at dunbarts
because so much has happened since then; the world seemed normal then compared to
now.I dont live in new orleans I left last year I've had enough of that place. The death of my
sister just changed everything for me and my family my parents suffer every moment since
.I think from time to time when i was stopping at dunbarts and think what happened to
everybody there.I check out your site and you are welcome in putting me in there.I' ve
been to Savannah, it's an intresting city.I hope all has been well for you.
When did you leave new orleans because I did not see you, or bump into you al those
years.Keep in touch.

I am terribly sorry for your pain and the suffering of your family. In the long run, Blanka
would have wanted you all to be happy.

I hope you are still painting. You are quite skilled and talented. Where are you now?

I left New Orleans in October of 2000. Despite the fun I had working at Dunbart, New
Orleans was not good to me
those last few years. Savannah has been, for the most part, though I am looking to move
somewhere else in the next few
years. Maybe Austin, Texas. I have lost touch with everybody in N.O. except for a couple of
close friends.

I'll run a profile on your work, perhaps sometime this weekend.

I hope all goes well for you, wherever you may be.

Stay strong and keep working!

Warm regards,
John

No I don't mind at all. It's an honor.

I don't know if I told you this in the past, but I interviewed Blanka for a
magazine I published back in 1990. I don't remember if I did
the interview in 89 or 90, but it was during the time she would sit out on
Decatur street and write her poetry.

I can  only find one copy that I have left, but if you like I could copy the interview for you and send it your
way.

Talk to you soon,
John

country which i like and got used to. My mother has a tribute website for my sister and she puts everything
there that is connected to my sister i hope you don't mind, but she put your letter there, because you
wrote about my sister.
The site your letter is in is

I will stay in touch.  I'm not great in writing so you have to excuse my short letters.

I will send you the magazine.
It's not very good, it was my first try.
But I'm sure that will not matter so much to you and your family.
I'm pretty sure I have another copy around here somewhere, so don't
worry.
It's more important that you have this.

I was a bad interviewer, but she was good.

At the time, I thought it was a tough interview because her answers were
short.
Somehow, I wanted more explanation.
Now that I have read it again, the wisdom of age has showed me that she
answered the questions perfectly.
I was just an idiot and she was smarter and wiser than me, even though I
was twice her age.
I have to give her credit, she was patient with me.

I remember that Blanka seemed a bit suspicious at first, so I made sure
that my girlfriend was with me when we did the interview.
I even had her pick Blanka up in her car, without me, just to set her mind
at ease.
After she knew there was no hanky panky or weirdness, she warmed up
and we became friends.

I won't be able to get to the post office until this upcoming Wednesday as
I have work and other things that prevent me
from doing it earlier, but I will send it to you then.

Take care. Tell your mom that I will send it soon and give her my warm
regards,
John

Hello Teresa,

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I
wasn't home when your package arrived. Thank
you for sending the writings and poetry.

Please don't lose your connection to your
other children and grandchildren.

I always think of all of you with Love.

The Lakota people have a saying:  Mitakuye
Oyasin. It translates into English as: All my
relations. Which Chief Orval Looking Horse
says means
"We Are All Related".  I believe that we are all
related. One Family. That's why we should help
each other whenever we can.

I wish I could send the gift of Solace but, I can
only send words.

Thank you for sending me this most wonderful
tribute. It is really amazing and beautiful.
I'll never forget Blanka. Having this shrine

Hello Marcel!
It sure was great to hear from you. It sounds
like your trip to Europe was wonderful.
I am wondering if you got some new
inspirations....not that you needed it but you
know
what I mean. I am sure you are as busy as
ever.So glad you went to Rome. It is so
beautiful. You probably did the right thing to
skip Naples. I have heard alot of negative
things about Naples (crime, garbage filled
streets, etc) so you probably didn't miss too
much there. Go to Sicily.....Cefalu....very nice.
Mike and I watched the lovely tribute to
Blanka that your mom made. It breaks my
heart. I wrote to your mother. I know HE sees
her tears. Also, I hope she is doing better. It
is very hard, I know......and just a day by
day thing to try and get through. Please take
care and know we think and pray for all
of you. Our best to all,
Theresa  BRADFORD
God bless and keep in touch.

Hi, I’m writing you because I found this book and picture of your beautiful daughter that
my husband and I had the pleasure to meet in New Orleans in ’88. When I stumbled upon
it, I was curious to see if she continued to write, as she was obviously extremely talented.
I put in her name on google and I was shocked to see that she had died and the
circumstances in which her death had occurred. My heart goes out to you and your family
for the loss of her and her child. Your website is a beautiful memorial for a woman who
died too young. Sincerely, Heather Stehle

I don't know if you remember me, the last we met was in 2000. My name is John and I used to manage
Dubart Art Supply in New Orleans.

I am deeply saddened by the news about Blanka. She was a dear, sweet soul.
I am in shock right now.

I am living in Savannah, Georgia now. A lot has happened since we last met, as I am sure has for you.
I always have fond memories of our times together.

I have a weblog that I think you might enjoy.

http://un-certaintimes.blogspot.com

I cover a wide variety of topics, as you will see. I'd like to run a post on your art, if that would be ok?

I'd love to hear from you and I await your response.

Warm regards,
John
